AL OLIVER - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
A Southern California native, Al attended Cerritos College and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). After a brief stint in the National Football League, Al graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary in 1980 with a Master of Divinity in Bible exposition. From there, he served as a teacher, counselor and teaching pastor for a number of years until he and his wife were both diagnosed with cancer.
After a difficult encounter with their cancer surgeries, the Oliver family left professional ministry in 1989 for a season of healing and recovery. Al then worked in his family’s construction materials business and was eventually promoted to President and CEO. He later returned to pastoral ministry serving as a Transitional Pastor for churches belonging to the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), and worked with four EFCA churches in nearly 13 years. Prior to joining VRM as Interim Director in July 2014, Al served as Transitional Pastor at Hillside Community Church in Porterville. He joined VRM full-time as Executive Director April 1, 2016.
Al has been married to his wife Verla for 40 years. They have two children (Matthew and Amber) and four grandchildren. In his free time Al enjoys salt-water fishing (especially in the Sea of Cortez).
SHERRI WHITE - DIRECTOR OF THRIFT MINISTRY
Sherri grew up in Ohio and made her way west in high school. She graduated from Long Beach State with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. After ten years at Gap Inc. in Fresno. Sherri came to VRM in 2010 and oversees all aspects of the thrift department, including all three stores in Visalia and Tulare. When first joining the team, Sherri felt divinely appointed for the position, knowing it benefits people in her community.
Sherri enjoys time with her husband, Matt, and her daughter, Kendal.
D’ANN REIMER - VOLUNTEER DIRECTOR & EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO
D’Ann graduated from California State University Channel Islands in 2011 with a degree in Business and began working in retail management shortly thereafter. After four years in retail, she moved to an operations management role for a dental company in hopes of following her passion to be a part of an organization that helps others. During that time, D’Ann interacted with several people that could not financially afford dental care. D’Ann partnered with local nonprofit organizations and set up several free dental care events with the support of clinicians in Visalia and Fresno. Her involvement in those events fueled her desire to commit her talents and abilities to the Visalia Rescue Mission. She came on staff at the VRM as the store manager of Rescued Treasures Tulare in 2015, and has transitioned to VRM's Volunteer Coordinator in 2017.

BETSY LEON - DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Betsy grew up in Visalia and graduated from Golden West High School and Fresno Pacific University with a bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Betsy has worked for Visalia Rescue Mission since April 2011 and has held many positions within the Mission. Finance and Thrift are where she has spent most of her years, but she is currently enjoying her role in Development. She has been married to Henry Leon since 2012, who is also an employee of Visalia Rescue Mission.
LINDSAY BALDWIN - ASST. DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
A Visalia native, Lindsay is a graduate of Mt. Whitney High School and Westmont College, with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, but has spent most of her post-college career in the non-profit sector -- specifically related to housing and addiction recovery. Her journey with VRM started in 2012 as Volunteer Coordinator and she transitioned into her current role in 2016. She and Shon married in 2010 and have two kids.
SHON BALDWIN - FINANCE DIRECTOR
Shon graduated from Fresno Pacific University in 1997 with a degree in Ministry and shortly after began working at various churches in the Visalia area. His primary passion during that season was worship, both leading and training. After ten years of serving the church in that capacity, he took a break from ministry to go back to school and pursue another passion…financial management. During that time he spent two years overseeing the finances of a local church and also served as a chairman for their Financial Executive Team. He then spent four years working at a local CPA firm, which specialized in Non-Profit accounting.
Shon is married to Lindsay Baldwin, the Assistant Director of Development at VRM. Just weeks after starting at the Mission, Shon and Lindsay welcomed their first child, Bailey Grace. Their son, Dax, joined the family in 2016.
DAVE THEIS - DIRECTOR OF MINISTRY OPERATIONS
Originally from Hanford, Ca, Dave served for over nine years with the United States Marine Corps, following which, he worked in business management. After placing his faith in Christ at the age of 37, Dave felt God’s calling on his life for professional ministry. He has since served as a ministry intern and as the Associate Pastor at churches in Tulare and Kingsburg. Dave has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity College of the Bible and is currently working on completing his Masters of Theology.
Dave and his wife Sandy, who live in the community of Woodlake, CA, have been married for over 20 years. They have two children, AJ and Will, who also live in Woodlake. Dave has two older children from a previous marriage, Matthew and April, and is blessed with three Grandchildren, Lizzy, Xander, and Shyra. In his free time he enjoys woodworking, shooting sports, and spending time on the farm with his two Rottweilers and pigmy goat, Eeyore.
NOVA TORREZ - WOMEN'S MINISTRY SUPERVISOR
Born in Belfast, Ireland and raised in Farmersville, CA, Nova graduated from the House of Hope in 2007 and developed a passion to give back to women and children. She joined the Shelter of Hope staff in July 2017. Through God's amazing grace, Nova has overcome many hardships in her life, which drives her passion even more to help those in need. She is a member of Visalia First Assembly Church and enjoys time with her husband, Jacinto, her four children and three grandchildren.
KEN MATNEY - FOOD SERVICES MANAGER
Ken graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in 2003 with a degree in Human Resources and has over 20 years of food service experience.
Ken has served at VRM since 2011 and is also a member of the ministry team. He lives in Visalia and serves as Sound Director for The Road Church of Visalia. He is currently earning his degree for Audio Engineering at Recording Connection Studios. With all of his children almost grown, Ken looks forward to becoming a grandpa.
GRACIE SANCHEZ - COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
After graduating the women's program in 2012, Gracie joined our staff as a seasonal Administrative Assistant in the financial department. Gracie has overcome many obstacles over the years, including the process of restoring the relationship with her children. Today, Gracie enjoys family life with Javier, her amazing husband of three years and the light of her heart -- her children Christina, Francisco, Janeli, Daizy, and Nevaeh.
Gracie transitioned to VRM's Community Engagement Coordinator in March 2017.
